Migrating to Release 17.2-2016, HotFix 049 Allegro EDM is now migrating from Java 1.7 to Java 1.8. If you configured the Allegro EDM server as a service, you need to stop and start the CadenceADWServer service to update the Java paths in your environment. ■ Stopping and Starting the Allegro EDM service on Linux ■ Stopping and Starting the Allegro EDM Service on Windows Important Stopping and starting the CadenceADWServer service using the Windows Service dialog, /sbin/service cadenceadwservice stop & or sudo system- config-services & will not update the Java paths in your environment. Stopping and Starting the Allegro EDM service on Linux You can stop and start the Allegro EDM service on Linux using a terminal prompt or Allegro EDM Configuration Manager. ■ Stopping and starting the Allegro EDM service using a terminal prompt on Linux a. In a terminal window, navigate to \server\bin. b. Stop the service by running sudo adwservices.sh stop c. Install the hotfix. d. In a terminal window, navigate to \server\bin. e. Run sudo adwservices.sh start ■ Stopping and restarting the Allegro EDM service using Allegro EDM Configuration Manager on Linux a. Navigate to \conf. b. Do one of the following: ❍ Run the following command: sudo ./conf. ❍ If you are using an administrator account, run the ./conf command.
