Shape Voiding ■ Shape voiding associated with rectangular pads are more consistent, maintaining a minimum clearance to the pad boundary. A user-preference variable has been added to the Shapes – Voiding section of the User Preference Editor dialog box that restores pre-17.2 behavior. ❑ av_squarecorners: Applies to static shapes, restores shapes voiding back to pre-17.2 state for square and rectangle pads. ■ Improves copper shape flow between adjacent rectangular pads ■ Solder mask with squared-off corners to rounded shape voids results in a reduced clearance compared to 16.6, see illustration with solder mask in purple ■ Use the new rounded rectangle pad geometry if the reduced solder mask to shape clearance is not desired
