Migrating from 17.2-2016 to 17.4-2019 On migrating your design to 17.4-2019 release, changes are observed in the following areas: ■ Licensing Changes ■ High Resolution Displays ■ Database ■ Uprev ■ Downrev ■ Scripts ■ Shapes ■ Obsolete and Updated Commands ■ User Interface Changes and Form Migration Licensing Changes ■ The 17.4-2019 release requires a new 17.4 license file; 17.2 licenses will not be able to open the new release. Note: The 17.4 license file can be used with 17.2 releases. ■ Cadence License Manager (Version 12.08.0001 or greater) must be used along with a 17.4 license. ❑ Help – About in LMTOOLS license utility should report v11.14.1.0 or greater. ❑ Updated license manager can be downloaded from the Cadence Software Download web site or using the Cadence Download Manager. ■ Extracting data using extracta batch command now requires a valid 17.4 license. High Resolution Displays ■ UI display on high resolution displays (4K or higher) may require setting a new OS System Variable to improve display visibility.
