Allegro Design Entry HDL The following sections describe new or modified functionality that might impact existing designs or workflows in Design Entry HDL (DE-HDL). Migrating from Releases 16.6-2015 and 17.2-2016 to Release 17.4-2019 Designs created using release 17.2-2016 can be migrated without any specific changes to release 17.4-2019. For 16.6 designs, the changes specified for 17.2 migration are true for 17.4 as well. Migrating from Release 16.6 to Release 17.2-2016 The following sections provide guidelines to migrate designs from 16.6 to the 17.2 release. ■ Structural Intermediate Representation (SIR) File Update ■ Changes in Constraint Manager Structural Intermediate Representation (SIR) File Update Allegro Design Entry HDL 17.2 is available only on 64-bit systems. In pre-16.5 designs, SIR files were generated based on 32-bit systems. These files will be incompatible with the current release. Therefore, if you uprev a pre-16.5 design to 17.x, an error related to SIR files might come up. To avoid this error, first uprev your design to the 16.5 or 16.6 release, then uprev the design to 17.2. SIR files are required only when upreving pre-16.5 designs to the latest release. Designs created in releases 16.5 or 16.6 can be directly used in 17.2. If you do not have releases 16.5 or 16.6 installed or if you need assistance, contact Cadence Technical Support.
