Migration Guide for Allegro Platform Products Core Allegro Platform Back-End Products October 2019 36 Product Version 17.4-2019 © 1999-2019 All Rights Reserved. ■ DRC domain in Constraint Manager has been replaced by the more robust DRC Browser. You can access the browser from within the DRC worksheet or from the layout editor Tools menu (Tools – DRC Browser). Uprev ■ Component classes and die thicknesses from 17.2 .mcm databases need to be verified after uprev. ■ Verify Top and Bottom dielectrics for correct placement in DIE STACK or Substrate after uprev on ICP designs. ■ 17.2 ICP Design Partition (.dpm), (.dps) databases will not uprev to 17.4 and will not be opened. You should import or retract all partitions to the master database and uprev the master to 17.4. ■ 17.2 PCB Design Partition (.dpf) can be opened and modified in 17.4 but uprev of the master database must be done prior to importing partitions. Note: You cannot import partitions into a master database which is a different version. Downrev ■ Downrev of PCB databases from 17.4 to 17.2 is supported (File – Export – Downrev Design) with data on subclasses specific to 17.4 being removed in the resulting database. The Downrev Design dialog and downrev.log file will detail the database impacts of downrev. ■ All ICP databases convert to .sip files during downrev to minimize loss of data that was added to the drawing in 17.4 release. This is true even if the 17.4 database has a .mcm file extension. Scripts ■ Color Dialog and Visibility Tab ❑ Scripting in these forms have been revised for reliable use across designs by including explicit class and subclass names. ❑ Existing 17.2 scripts will continue to work in 17.4 but if issues are seen during replay on different designs it is recommended to re-recorded them in 17.4. ■ Die Stack Editor menus in APD+ have changed, scripts from previous releases will no longer work.
