Migration Guide for Allegro Platform Products Core Allegro Platform Back-End Products October 2019 42 Product Version 17.4-2019 © 1999-2019 All Rights Reserved. By default, grid columns will look at the width specified across all your columns to determine sizing. The width of the grid field will be distributed across the columns based on their proportional weighting. For example, in a grid with three columns: 1. Column 1, Width = 25 2. Column 2, Width = 10 3. Column 3, Width = 5 The first column will be 2.5x as wide as the second column and 5x as wide as the third, while the second column will be 2x as wide as the third. The exact width of each column will depend on the form size, screen resolution, font scaling, and other display settings specific to your machine. FLEXMODE Option With 17.4, by default, the size of a form may change to accommodate all the fields to be displayed (see later item in this migration guide). To prevent this and to force the form to be a specific size and never change, use the new FLEXMODE option. ■ FIXEDSIZE: If specified, the PORT statement of the form file is used as the fixed size to be used for the form, regardless of content. This option is primarily useful in large forms with TABSET fields defined which may require different amounts of space. By default, the form will size itself only as large as needed to show the fields of the current tab. This may result in the form "growing" when you move to different tabs, or different pages of a wizard. While this may be desirable for you, in cases where the larger tabs are rarely used, if the growing of the form after initial display is not desirable, use the FIXEDSIZE tab. An example of this option in use is the design parameters form. While some tabs, like the initial Display tab, have many fewer fields and thus need less room to display, tabs like the
