Adding a Project to inspectAR
Sponsored Projects
Adding a Sponsored project to the inspectAR application is a simple process.
Step 1:
Open up your inspectAR application, and select the projects menu in the upper left corner of the screen.
Step 2:
Select the Sponsored tab and then select the Sponsored Project you wish to download.
Step 3:
Select Download. Sponsored projects are pre-calibrated so users can immediately explore the boards.
Custom Projects
Custom projects require the user to visit app.inspectar.com
Step 1:
Select New Project and choose the EDA you used to create the PCB. You will then be prompted to upload the manufacturing outputs. KiCAD users will upload their .kicad_pcb board file, Eagle users will upload the .brd file. Users Other users will upload the IPC2581B file generated by Cadence, Altium and many other EDA's
Step 2: (Optional)
You have the option to upload a BOM (Bill of Materials) file. This is useful for accessing part information and datasheets within the inspectAR application.
Step 3:
Name your project and upload your files. Currently, KiCAD and Eagle users may upload their custom projects for free.
Step 4:
Once the files are successfully uploaded. Open your inspectAR application.
Access the projects menu and select your custom project, then download the project to your inspectAR application.
Step 5:
You will have to calibrate your new board on the inspectAR application, and then you are ready to explore! Check out our tutorial on how to calibrate here.
