Workspace Configuration GUI Field Description Component Information System Provides the option to select one of the following databases: Local - To continue using an existing local open database connectivity (ODBC) Component Information System (CIS) database. With this option selected, Part Manager queries the part data from the local ODBC. If there is no CIS configu- ration found for the project, this option is disabled. Cloud - To leverage the part authoring capabilities and the integrated OnCloud CIS data management capabilities. New Workspace Launches the Add Workspace GUI to create a new shared workspace. Name Displays the name of the workspace. Data Residency Displays the physical location (region) of the organization's data. Domain Displays the domain which has access to the workspace: Internal - Workspace is restricted to people within the organization. External - Workspace is also available to the people outside the organization. Shared with Displays the users with whom the selected workspace is shared. Let's you add users to access the selected workspace. Email Displays the email ID of the users with access to the workspace. Roles Let's you assign a role to the selected user. 3. Select either Local or Cloud in the Component Information System (CIS) Data Source field. For workspace configuration, Cloud is selected as the default CIS data source. CIS Data Source When to Use Local The Local open database connectivity (ODBC) option lets you continue with a known good CIS Data Source. You can continue working seamlessly with the existing database and start using Cloud data management capabilities for the designs. If there is no CIS configuration found for the project, this option is disabled. Cloud The Cloud option enables you to leverage the part authoring and integrated Cloud CIS data management capabilities. You can add new workspaces and add or remove members. Members receive access to workspaces when assigned roles with predefined access permissions. 4. To create a new workspace, click the New Workspace button. The Add Workspace GUI is displayed.
