ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGE LEADER WITH PSPICE
There are many issues we face today due to the excess of e-waste and the inefficient ways to dispose of it. However, this is where the role of an
empowered engineer can come into play from the product design standpoint. Paired with the use of PSpice for design simulation to reduce the
device failure rate, the amount of overall e-waste could be significantly reduced. Every step that is taken to reduce overall material consumption
and eventual material discard is a step closer to a world that is cleaner, healthier, and available to be enjoyed for decades to come.
Example: The PSpice Smoke Analysis
PSpice generates a Smoke Analysis result (left). This graph displays that components and parameters are still stressed beyond acceptable limits
revealed using PSpice Smoke Analysis even for functionally correct circuit designs.
PSpice can help by replacing the existing circuit component with appropriate electrical specifications, adding a heatsink to manage increased
junction temperature, and re-running the Smoke Analysis. The updated smoke Analysis result will show all green to verify safe operating limits (right).
