9 - Text to Shape Minimum allowable distance from the edge of any silk screen text to any silk screen shape on the same silk screen layer. (DFF_SLKSCR_TXT_ TO_SHAPE) Non-Etch 10 - Text to Text Minimum allowable distance from the edge of any silk screen text to any silk screen text on the same layer. (DFF_SLKSCR_TXT_TO_TXT) Non-Etch Design for Assembly Core Analysis Mode The checks defined within this domain are focused on positioning the design for the assembly process. The rules aid in providing proper clearances and other constraints to improve the efficiency and reduction of issues for automated and manual assembly. Component Body When component bodies are analyzed, the body outline is based on one of two subclass geometries. First, the DFA_BOUND_ TOP or DFA_BOUND_BOTTOM geometries as used as the defining outline of the component body. Second, if no DFA Boundary is defined, the PLACE_BOUND_TOP or PLACE_BOUND_BOTTOM geometries are used. Design for Assembly Min Package Height for Tall Component: Defines the value for the minimum height of tall components. Any component with a height equal to or greater than the value specified is considered as a tall component for specific component checks. Min Pin count for high pin components: Defines the value for the minimum number of component pins required to identify a component as having a high pin count. Any component with a number of pins equal to or greater than the value specified is considered as a high pin count component for specific component checks. Min width for large via: Defines the value for the minimum via hole diameter to identify a large via. Any via with a drill diameter equal to or greater than the value specified is considered as a larger via for specific assembly checks. Conveyed Edge direction: Conveyed edge defines the edge of the board which is used to hold the board in the conveyor belt for assembly purpose. Legal values are North-South, and East-West. 14 www.cadence.com OrCAD X DesignTrue DFM Rules Guide
