Page 9 Before the Import Remember the following when importing designs from DE-HDL to System Capture: 1. Make the DE-HDL design DML-independent. 2. Ensure that the libraries in the source DE-HDL design are available to the target System Capture design. 3. All the sub-blocks inside the block being imported get imported. In case any of the blocks already exist in the target design, the blocks are not re-imported. 4. All the data included in the source block, such as sheet titles, packaging information, constraints, block symbol, and variant data, also gets imported with the block. All this data can be reused in the target design. 5. If the source block does not have a Symbol view present, when the block is imported Generate View is run and a schematic symbol for the block is generated. This schematic symbol is available in Allegro System Captures for the instantiation of the block. Importing a DE-HDL Block into System Capture 1. Choose File – Import – Block(s).
