Page 4 Overview The Allegro EDM suite of products help organizations implement collaborative library and design environment involving library and design teams, methodologies, corporate design databases, and point tools. In addition, design lifecycle, library development a nd management, and data management features are available to control the design and library management processes. EDM offers two main types of flows: • Librarian flows Encompass the library development and management activities. Aim to generate, assemble, and release all the validated library data elements (for example, symbol, package/footprint, padstacks, and behavioral models) for the specific tools used in the design process. • Designer flows Are specific to the front-to-back flow of the PCB design process. Based on the nature of PCB design process, Allegro Data Manager provides out-of-the-box design flows that serve as templates based on which you can construct your standard flows. A new designer flow is now available in EDM that is specifically for using System Capture for logic capture. This document explains how to access System Capture from the EDM Flow Manager. Enable System Capture Design in EDM Use the following option in Config Manager as EDM site administrator needs to enable this flow for your site. Alternately, an EDM site administrator can create an organization-level custom flow based on OOTB System Capture Flow and publish.
