Module 1: Getting Started
Lab 1: Using this Rapid Adoption Kit (RAK)
This RAK is contained in a zipped archive that should be unpacked somewhere on your
local machine where you have write permissions. If you're working on the Cadence
Cloud, this has already been done for you.
The archive includes the following files and directories:
▪ Lab Manual – Caching and Part Management.pdf – This lab document.
▪ SITE – A directory containing setup, customization, and library data for the RAK.
▪ System_Capture_Projects – A directory containing the projects that will be
used in this RAK, and where you'll create new projects.
▪ Source_Files – A directory containing data that you may need for this RAK, such
as data sheets, technology files, or images.
▪ Launch_SystemCapture.bat – A script that sets up your environment for the lab
and launches Allegro System Capture.
Important – The script Launch_SystemCapture.bat assumes that your Cadence SPB
tools are installed at the default location, C:\Cadence\SPB_17.2\ If you are working on
your local machine and your tools are installed elsewhere, please edit the path on line 8
of Launch_SystemCapture.bat to match your Cadence SPB 17.2 installation directory.
To launch Allegro System Capture and begin the labs, double click on
Launch_SystemCapture.bat
A batch script window (cmd.exe) will appear, then you may be prompted to choose a
license. Choose either Allegro Venture System Design Authoring or Allegro Design
Authoring with the High Speed option.
